When you mention drama for kids most parents think of the 2nd grade play at the local elementary school. This class is far from that.  Our drama program teaches kids the skills needed to grow into a confident, articulate and creative adults. Students learn to express their ideas and communicate as their self confidence grows.

During their lessons, kids work together as a team while never feeling like they are competing with each other for the spotlight.  Our actors develop the self confidence, sense of team work, and creativity.

5 Tips to make the most out of music lessons

  • 1. Let Your Child Decide - Let your child decide what instrument they are interested in. The benefits of music lessons are not limited to a few instruments. The choices are tremendous and no matter what they choose they will reap the rewards. For those students that are undecided we can make recommendations based on a FREE evaluation of the child.
  •
  • 2. Lead By Example - Try playing an instrument yourself. Kids mimic their parents and seeing you might inspire and motivate them. Adults can start any instrument at any time. Success is based on how willing an adult is to commit to practicing. We teach many adult students and can schedule timeslots after work, during lunch breaks, or that correspond with your child’s lesson time.
  •
  • 3. Employ a Professional - Don’t just take lessons from anyone. Just because your neighbor’s nephew can play the guitar doesn’t mean he’s qualified to teach it. Look for private music schools in your area that employ professional teachers with experience teaching all ages and can offer choices to help the student from feeling stagnant.
  •
  • 4. You Don’t Have To Spend a Lot - No need to buy a new instrument, try renting first to test the waters and give yourself time to get educated on what to buy. Your instructor can give you advice on what to look for.
  •
  • 5. Have Fun - Most importantly don’t forget that music is a social hobby and builds self esteem, so enjoy it and have a good time while you learn the music you enjoy at your own pace.
  • At key Music Center we offer a menu of options that includes one-on-lessons as well as original and unique programs designed by our writing staff such as Keyboard Kids, Rock Band, Preschool Music, Acting/Drama, Music Therapy and more.
